The Story Circle Network has announced its 2020 shortlist for its two women’s book awards, the Sarton and the Gilda. The Sarton honors May Sarton, who is remembered for her contributions to women's literature as a memoirist, novelist, and poet. The Gilda, new this year, honors comedian Gilda Radner. Gilda memoirs are distinguished by their fresh voices, their honesty, and their authenticity. They make us laugh (even when we want to cry).
The winners of both competitions will be announced in early April, 2020.
Finalists in the Contemporary Fiction category include:
Hunting the Devil, Suanne Schafer (Waldorf)
Luz, Debra Thomas (She Writes Press)
Queen of the Owls, Barbara Linn Probst (She Writes Press)
Sweet Jane, Joanne Kukanza Easley (Black Rose Writing)
Tea by the Sea, Donna Hemans (Red Hen Press)
The Best Part of Us, Sally Cole-Misch (She Writes Press)
